About Us

Luminis is an organisation that defines itself through its expertise in the application of emergent information technology; it develops, cultivates, aggregates and shares expertise on a commercial basis. Luminis has been innovating since 2002 and differentiates itself by focussing upon specific areas of expertise which offer the potential for significant, positive change in the way that our customers operate and our willingness to take a proactive approach to creating the necessary skills – often ahead of mainstream demand.

We operate essentially at three levels:

• Expert Services: focussed expertise to help build robust, professional systems
• Technology components: Software to enable the assembly and development of complex architectures and systems efficiently and reliably
• Collaborative ventures: partnering with third parties on a shared risk/reward basis to develop and market exciting new offerings

In addition to working with customers to apply technology in new areas, Luminis has been a long-serving and active participant In the Open Source movement; Luminis is an active participant in several Apache Foundation projects, including Apache Felix, was the original developer of Apache ACE, is an official Adopter Associate of OSGi and regularly presents papers at Open Source Events. Luminis is a business partner of the Dutch Java User Group (NLJUG) and we host a number of Open Source projects, including EZdroid – an implementation of Apache Felix on Android.
